Abstract
This descriptive study was designed to identify the effects of anger on violence among students in middle school and determine the effect of spiritual well-being on their relationship. The participants of this study were 260 students from two classes from each of six different middle-schools located in Daegu metropolitan city. Data were collected from June 10, 2015 to July 25, 2015. three scales tools were used to measure anger, violence, and spiritual-wellbeing . The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, three-step mediated regression analysis, and hierarchial moderated regression analysis in SPSS/WIN 18.0 Program. The findings of this study were as follows: 1. The mean score of the anger was 1.48, violence 1.33, and spiritual well-being was 2.75. The measured score for existential well-being and religious well-being; specific categories of spiritual well-being, were 3.19, and 2.31 respectively. 2. The anger showed significant differences in relation with both parents or single parents (t=5.32, p=.022), rearing attitude of the mother (F=5.29, p=.006), home atmosphere (F=5.96, p=.003), friendship (F=7.04, p=.001) and school life (F=9.13, p<.001). 3. The violence showed significant differences in relation with religion (F=4.36, p=.005), with both parents or single parents (t=10.31, p=.001), and rearing attitude of the mother (F=4.44, p=.013). 4. The spiritual well-being showed significant differences in relation with age (F=7.47, p=.001), grade (F=8.49, p<.001), religion (F=8.27, p<.001), with both parents or single parents (t=6.08, p=.014), conversation with the father (F=8.62, p<.001), home atmosphere (F=3.74, p=.026), friendship, (F=3.82, p=.024), and school life (F=9.29, p<.001). 5. Anger was significantly positively correlated with violence (r=.56, p<.001), and significantly negatively correlated with existential well-being a part of spiritual well-being (r=-.30, p<.001), Violence was also significantly negatively correlated with existential well-being (r=-.25, p<.001). 6. Although anger was determined as a factor exerting a significant influence on violence (β=.56, p<.001), with the predictability of 31%, existential well-being did not have mediated effect and moderating effect on both anger and violence. These results showed that anger had effect on the violence in middle school students. While existential well-being was negatively correlated with anger and violence, it was displayed as ineffective. The result of the study confirms the necessity of the development of a nursing intervention program aimed to enhance existential well-being in order to decrease violence among youth through moderating anger.
본 연구는 중학생의 분노가 폭력성에 미치는 영향을 확인하고 이들 간의 관계에서 영적안녕의 효과를 규명하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 대구지역에 소재한 6개 중학교 2개 반 남·녀 중학생 총 260명을 대상으로 2015년 6월 10일에서 7월 25일까지 자료를 수집하였다. 연구도구는 분노, 폭력성, 영적안녕 측정도구를 이용하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS/WIN 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, 3단계 매개회귀분석, 위계적 조절회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다 1. 대상자의 분노는 평균 1.48점, 폭력성은 평균 1.33점이었고, 영적안녕의 평균은 2.75점으로 나타났다. 영적안녕의 하위영역에서는 실존적 안녕 3.19점, 종교적 안녕 2.31점으로 나타났다. 2. 대상자의 분노는 동거형태(t=5.32, p=.022), 어머니 양육태도(F=5.29, p=.006), 가정 분위기(F=5.96, p=.003), 교우관계(F=7.04, p=.001), 학교생활(F=9.13, p<.001)에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 3. 대상자의 폭력성은 종교(F=4.36, p=.005), 동거형태(t=10.31, p=.001), 어머니 양육태도(F=4.44, p=.013)에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 4. 대상자의 영적안녕은 연령(F=7.47, p=.001), 학년(F=8.49, p<.001), 종교(F=8.27, p<.001), 동거형태(t=6.08, p=.014) 아버지와의 대화(F=8.62, p<.001), 가정 분위기(F=3.74, p=.026), 교우관계(F=3.82, p=.024), 학교생활(F=9.29, p<.001)에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 5. 대상자의 분노는 폭력성(r=.56, p<.001).과 유의한 정적 상관관계, 영적 안녕의 하위 영역인 실존적 안녕(r=-.30, p<.001)과는 유의한 부적 상관 관계를 보였으며, 폭력성도 실존적 안녕(r=-.25, p<.001)과 유의한 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 6. 대상자의 분노는 폭력성에 유의한 영향 요인을 미치는 요인이었으며(β=.56, p<.001), 설명력은 31%였으나, 분노와 폭력성에서 실존적 안녕은 매개효과와 조절효과를 보이지 않았다. 결론적으로, 중학생의 분노가 폭력성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 실존적 안녕이 분노와 폭력성과 부적 상관관계를 보였으나 효과는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 분노를 조절하여 폭력성을 낮추기 위해서 실존적 안녕을 증진 시키는 간호중재 프로그램 개발이 필요함을 알 수 있었다.
