Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop an interpersonal relationship harmony program and to investigate the effect of this interpersonal relationship harmony program on interpersonal relationships, conflict resolution methods and interpersonal relationship anxieties in nursing students. The interpersonal relationship harmony program was developed for nursing students. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated using a quasi-experimental design. Study participants consisted of 58 third-year nursing students at two universities in Daegu: 29 in the control group and 29 in the experimental group. Their scores for interpersonal relationship harmony were below average, and they wanted to participate in the program. Those in the experimental group participated in the interpersonal relationship harmony program for 90-100 minutes per session, once a week for 8 weeks, and those in the control group participated in the interpersonal relationship harmony program for one week. Interpersonal relationship was measured using questionnaire items on interpersonal relationship harmony and interpersonal relationship ability; conflict resolution method was measured using questionnaire items on active conflict mitigation, active conflict intensification, passive conflict mitigation and passive conflict intensification; interpersonal relationship anxiety was assessed using questionnaire items on interpersonal relationship anxiety. Data were collected from July 5, 2014 to September 23, 2014. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 19.0. The results were as follows : 1) The first hypothesis that those in the experimental group participating in the interpersonal relationship harmony program were more likely to report higher scores on measures of interpersonal relationship than those in the control group was supported: there were significant differences between the two groups in the interpersonal relationship harmony (t=7.04, p<.001) and interpersonal relationship ability (t=5.06, p<.001). 2) The second hypothesis that those in the experimental group participating in the interpersonal relationship harmony program were more likely to report a change for conflict resolution method in a positive direction than those in the control group was supported: there were significant differences between the two groups in the active conflict mitigation (t=3.69, p=.001) and active conflict intensification (t=-2.51, p=.015). 3) The third hypothesis that those in the experimental group participating in the interpersonal relationship harmony program were more likely to report lower scores on measures of interpersonal relationship anxiety than those in the control group was supported: there were significant difference between the two groups (t=-2.75, p=.008) in interpersonal relationship anxiety. 1) The interpersonal relationship harmony program developed for this study is a nursing mediation program aimed at improving nursing students’ interpersonal skills and conflict resolution methods and at lessening interpersonal relationship anxiety through an integrated approach facilitating harmony among a nursing student’s cognition, emotion, behavior and body. This program can not only help nursing students build good relationships with college friends, but also help them become nurses with high nursing performance after graduation.
본 연구의 목적은 간호대학생의 대인관계, 갈등해결방식을 향상시키고, 대인관계불안을 감소시키는데 적합한 대인관계조화프로그램을 개발하고 이를 적용하여 그 효과를 검증하기 위한 것이다. 간호대학생을 위한 대인관계조화프로그램은 선행연구와 문헌고찰을 기본으로 연구자가 개발하였다. 프로그램의 효과검증은 유사실험설계(Quasi-experimental design)를 이용하여 실시되었다. 연구대상은 대구지역 2개 대학 3학년에 재학 중인 학생으로 사전 대인관계조화 점수가 평균 이하인 학생들 중 참여하기를 원하는 학생으로 실험군과 대조군 각 29명씩 총 58명이었다. 본 연구에서 실험군에게는 대인관계조화프로그램을 주 1회 90-100분씩 8주간 제공하였고, 대조군에게는 1회기로 정리된 대인관계조화프로그램을 제공하였다. 본 연구에서 프로그램 전후에 대인관계는 대인관계조화, 대인관계능력, 갈등해결능력은 능동적 갈등완화, 능동적 갈등격화, 수동적 갈등완화, 수동적 갈등격화, 대인관계불안은 대인관계불안의 설문지를 사용하여 측정하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS/WIN 19.0 프로그램을 이용하여 사전 동질성 검증은 chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, 가설검증은 t-test, 추가분석은 Repeated measure ANOVA를 이용하였다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 제 1가설, “대인관계조화프로그램에 참여한 실험군은 참여하지 않은 대조군보다 대인관계 점수가 높을 것이다”는 두 집단 간 대인관계조화 점수(t=7.04, p<.001)와 대인관계능력 점수(t=5.06, p<.001)에 유의한 차이가 있어 지지되었다. 2) 제 2가설, “대인관계조화프로그램에 참여한 실험군은 참여하지 않은 대조군보다 갈등해결방식이 긍정적으로 변할 것이다”는 두 집단 간 능동적 갈등완화(t=3.69, p=.001)와 능동적 갈등격화(t=-2.51, p=.015)에 유의한 차이가 있어 지지되었다. 수동적 갈등완화와 수동적 갈등격화에는 유의한 차이가 없어 기각되었다. 3) 제 3가설, “대인관계조화프로그램에 참여한 실험군은 참여하지 않은 대조군보다 대인관계불안 점수가 낮을 것이다”는 두 집단 간 대인관계불안점수에 유의한 차이가 있어 지지되었다(t=-2.75, p=.008). 이상의 연구결과를 통해 본 연구에서 개발된 대인관계조화프로그램은 간호대학생의 인지, 정서, 행동, 신체의 통합적 조화를 통해 대인관계, 갈등해결방식의 향상과 대인관계불안 감소에 도움이 되는 간호중재 프로그램이라 할 수 있으며, 간호대학생의 대학생활에서의 원만한 교우관계형성은 물론 예비 간호사로서 졸업 후 간호사로서의 업무를 효과적으로 수행하여 임상현장 적응력을 높이고, 전문직으로서의 커리어를 유지하는데 기여할 수 있을 것이라 생각한다.
