- Abstract
- The corrosive esophagitis and gastritis by ingestion of strong acid is rare in recent decades in our country. We experienced a case of corrosive esophagogastritis associated with gastric mucosal necrosis, strictrure of the lower one third of esophagus and the body and antrum of stomach that were revealed by UGI endoscopy with biopsy and esphagogastrogram in 52-year old male. His chief complains were hematemesis and dysphagia 10 days after ingestion of about 20cc of toilet bowel cleaner, HCl, for suicidal purpose.
