Diverse Electrocardiographic Changes in Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (SFTS)

Abstract

Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is caused by SFTS virus (SFTSV), a novel bunyavirus reported to be endemic in central and northeastern China. Some cases reported about myocardial dysfunction in SFTS patients. But, there are few studies about electrocardiographic (ECG) changes and myocardial dysfunction. This study showed that high proportion of SFTS patients had ECG changes (68%). ECG abnormalities occurred more frequently in the death group. The cardiac involvement of SFTSV was not clear. But, lots of patients were having abnormal ECG and more frequently involvement in fatal cases. Additional studies are needed about cardiac involvement of SFTSV.

중증 열성 혈소판 감소 증후군은 2009년 중국에서 발견된, novel bunyavirus 에 속하는 중증 열성 혈소판 감소 증후군 바이러스에 감염되어 발생한다. 중증 열성 혈소판 감소 증후군 환자에서 심근장애가 발생하였다는 연구들 이 있었으나, 심전도 변화와 심근장애의 연관성에 대한 연구는 없었다. 이 연구에서 중증 열성 혈소판 감소 증후군으로 확진된 환자의 심전도 변화에 대해 추적하였고, 환자들에게서 비정상 심전도가 많음을 알 수 있었다. 특 히 사망 환자군에서 생존 환자군에 비해 높은 비율로 비정상 심전도 소견 을 보였다. 중증 열성 혈소판 감소 증후군 바이러스가 심장을 침범하는지는 분명하지 않으나, 본 연구결과를 미루어 볼 때 침범 가능성이 고려되므로 추가적인 연구가 필요하겠다.
