Abstract
Background: Recently, umbilical cord blood has been utilized successfully for the hematopoietic reconstruction of children with lethal disorders of hematopoiesis such as aplastic anemia, leukemia, serve combined immune deficiency and inborn error metabolism. Corld bloode has remarkable heoretical advantage for successful engraftment due to physiologic immune immaturity in stem cell trasplantation.
