- A 74-year-old male patient developed rapidly progressive acute renal failure following flame burn injury. He was found to have normal renal function and urinary finding at the time of admission. On 15th hospital day he developed oliguria, proteinuria, weight gain，hypertension, renal failure. Percutaneous renal biopsy was done under the ultrasonographic giude at 75th hospital day. Renal biopsy showed extensive circumferential crescents by light microscopy and granular mesangial deposits of IgA by immunofluorescence. Renal function soon progressed to end stage renal failure despite of methylprednisolone pulse therapy. IgA nephropathy should be considered as a rare cause of crescentic glomerulonephritis and/or rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis.
