Abstract
The incidence of early epithelial ovarian cancer in young women has recently been increasing. They could have a strong desire to preserve fertility. Therefore, fertility preservation management should be considered as an integral part of early epithelial ovarian cancer treatment planning. Fertility-sparing surgery includes the removal of the involved ovary with evaluation of the contralateral ovary by gross inspection, biopsy, or cystectomy, and surgical staging. However some of the patients may suffer the infertility secondary to cancer treatment even after fertility-sparing therapy. We report a successful live birth after in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer technique in a patient who underwent fertility sparing surgery followed by adjuvant chemotherapy for ovarian endometrioid adenocarcinoma grade I stage IIA. She needed higher dose of gonadotropin for longer days potentially due to adjuvant chemotherapy. Young women with early epithelial ovarian cancer could preserve the chance of conceiving.
