Multicystic Kidney 1례

Title: Multicystic Kidney 1례
Author(s): 서노교; 김법완
Abstract: Multicystic kidney is considered as common cause of neonatal abdominal mass but only one case reported in Korea.

Multicystic kidney can be identified as two forms: 1) the large multicystic kidney, tending to haved a normal contralateral kidney, and 2) the small multicystic kidney, which has a high incidence of contralateral anomalies and other congenital anomalies.

We report a case of multicystic kidney in a 2 year-old male patient, which was suspected by clinical investigation and confirmed by exploration and microscopic examination.

Abstract: A clinical study was carried out retrospectively on 24 patients with Hodgkin's disease who admitted to the Dong San Hospital, Keimyung University between May, 1972 and December, 1983. The rerults of the this study was as follows.

Male to female ratio was 5 ： 1 with male predominance and the age distribution was between 5 and 63 with mean age of 29.9 years.

Palpable neck mass was the most frequent complaint(20 cases: 83.3%). General weakness, fever was observed in 7 cases(29.2%) and weight loss, abdominal pain in 5 cases(20. 8%), respectively.

Physical findings revealed lymph node enlargement in 23 cases(95.8%) with cervical, inguinal, axillary and mesenteric in order of frequency. Splenomegaly was observed in 10 cases (41.7%), hepatomegaly in 7 cases(29.2%) and abdominal mass in 5 cases(20.8%).

Laboratory findings revealed anemia in 45.8%, leukopenia in 16.7%, leukocytosis in 16.7%, thrombocytopenia in 4.5%, hypoproteinemia in 22.7%, azotemia in 13.6%, increased alkaline phosphatase in 18.2% and hypercalcemia in 7.1%.

Histopathologic classifications by Rye modification were as follows: Lymphocyte predominance was 3 cases(16.7%), nodular sclerosis 3 cases(16.7%), mixed cellularity 10 cases(55.6%) and lymphocyte depletion was 2 cases(ll. 1%). By Ann Arbor staging, stage I in 4 cases(16.7%), stage II in 10 cases(41.7%), stage I in 6 cases(25%), stage F in 4 cases(16.7%).

Treatment was performed as follows: Radiotherapy in 7 cases, chemotherapy in 9 cases, combined therapy in 2 cases and operatin was done in 5 cases.

Long-term follow up cases for over two years were 6 cases and a half of these cases were achieved complete remission.

Abstract: In order to determine the recent changes in infestation pattern of Clonorchis sinensis metacercariae in the southern topmouthed minnow, Pseudorasbora parva, the fish were collected in the river Kumho, throwing a castnet and using a glass bowl containing crushed oil—cake as bait from March to September, 1984.

The infestation rates and intensity of infestation for C, sinensis in ᅳP. parva were determined and compared with the results reported by Lee and Kim(1958), Kim(1961), Lee(1968), Choi(1976), and Hwang and Choi(1980) in the same river.

The intensity of infestation with C. sinensis in P. parva, expressed in the average numbers of cysts per gram of flesh, were decreased with undulation from 1958 to 1980. The average number was 63. 3 in 1958, 34. 3 in 1968, 51. 4 in 1976, and 41.8 in 1980, then dropped abruptly to 7. 9 in 1983.

Abstract: Fresh-water fish caught at the river Bongwhang running through Uiseong county in Kyungpook Province, Korea were examined for the presence of metacercariae of digenetic trematodes from April to September, 1983.

Seven kinds of larval trematodes and undetermined larvae were found from thirteen species of the fish collected in the river.

Among these larval trematodes, Clonorchis sinensis metacercaria was found from eight species and Metagonimus yokogawai cyst from four species of the fish. Similary, Exorchis oviformis metacercaria was parasitized in eleven, Metacercaria hasegawai in nine, Echinochasmus species in seven and Cyathococyl orientalis in two species of the fish.

The intensity of infestation with the metacercaria of C. sinensis, expressed in the average number of metacercariae per gram of flesh, was relatively low (ᄋ, 75) in Hemibarbus labeo. The average number in the other fish were very low(less than 0.5). In the case of M» yokogawai, the average number of larvae was very low in almost all of fish except H. labeo.
