Abstract: Extraskeletal Ewing's sarcoma is a rare primary malignant soft tissue tumor that was first described by Angervall and Enzinger in 1975. These tumors tend to occur chiefly in young adults. Because of their undifferentiated histologic appearance, the differential diagnosis must exclude other small round cell neoplasm such as neuroblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, neuroepithelioma, and poorly differentiated malignant lymphoma. The extraskeletal Ewing's sarcoma are mainly involved the soft tissues of the trunk and lower extremity. We recently experienced a case of extraskeletal Ewing's sarcoma of the right arm in a 53 years old male. The patient underwent local wide excision and postoperative radiation of 6.480cGy and combination chemotherapy with VP-16, adriamycin, vincristine, prednisolone and cyclophosphamide. We presented a case of extraskeletal Ewing's sarcoma in the right arm with review of world literature

Abstract: Spontaneous intracranial hypotension(SIH) is a rare syndrome which causes postural headaches associated with low CSF pressure. Headaches are usually accompanied by on rare occasions diplopia, and transient visual obscuration as well as nausea, vomiting, tinnitus, neck stiffness, vertigo, photophobia, and phonophobia. CSF leakage from a spinal meningeal defect may be the most common cause of this syndrome. Downward sagging of the brain due to lw CSF pressure may produce headaches by traction of intracranial and meningeal pain-sensitive structures. Lumbar puncture reveals low opening pressure. CSF protein and cell count may be slightly elevated. Brain and cervical MRI may show diffuse and continuous pachymeningeal enhancement with gadolinium, subdural effusion, or downward displacement of the brain. We present two patients with SIH, in whom epidural blood patch produced an immediate and complete resolution of the symptoms. We couldn't identify CSF leakage site in either of them.

Abstract: The existence of gastric neuroendocrine carcinomas had been scarcely recognized. When present, the correct diagnosis is seldom made before surgery. The recognition of these tumors can be problematic for the pathologist. Some of these tumors have "small cell" appearance by light microscopic examination, but others only be called "poorly differentiated carcinoma". But tremendous advances in immunohistochemistry in the last 15 years have yielded powerful tools to the pathologist in diagnosing these tumors.
We experienced a case of neuroendocrine carcinoma of the stomach. The patient was a 67-year-old male and visited our hospital with epigastric pain. Subtotally resected stomach showed 3.5×4×5cm sized ulcerated tumor that was located at lesser curvature. Final diagnosis was neuroendocrine carcinoma, which stained positively for synaptophysin immunohistochemically.
Herein, we report a case of neuroendocrine carcinoma of stomach and review the literature.

Abstract: Molecular biotechnology is a broad research and development principle encompassing basic research as well as applied industrial developments. Biotechnology is expected to become one of the most important research and development sectors in the next century, but the domestic support industry for the field is severely underdeveloped and at best in its infancy. DNA size marker is frequently employed during research in a purpose of extrapolating the relative size of a DNA fragment or measuring the amount of DNA loaded a sample. However, DNA size marker is not developed for commercialization domestically. Further, liquid suspension containing DNA size marker needs to be kept at a low temperature during storage and shipping. In an attempt to maintain the DNA samples at room temperature for extended period of time, lyophilization of DNA with addition of a nuclease inhibitor was studied. Hae Ⅲ digest of ΦX174 phage DNA has been a useful size marker for low molecualr weight DNA molecules, but the double strand RF form of the phage DNA requires laborious procedures for cell culture and purification. A new plasmid was constructed to generate band patterns which can substitute the Hae Ⅲ digest of ΦX174 phage DNA for a comparable purpose. Gel staining dye was also added to the lyophilized DNA to provide additional convenience such that DNA size marker was ready for use by simple reconstitution of distilled water. DNA size marker appears to be advantageous for development as one can judge the quality of the product by direct observation.
