발매트 사용이 수술실 소독간호사의 피로도, 불편감, 하지부종 및 피부온도에 미치는 효과

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of foot mats on reduction of fatigue and discomfort, edema of lower extremities and skin temperature in scrub nurses during surgery. Sixteen nurses who were working in the operating rooms at D hospital in Daegu, Korea were participated in this study. Before applying foot mats, the level of fatigue and discomfort, edema of lower extremities and skin temperature were measured before surgical hand scrub and after the first surgery of the day for 3 consecutive days. The same procedures were conducted after providing foot mats to the subjects. The levels of fatigue and discomfort were measured by rating scales with ten points. The level of edema was determined by the differences in circumferences both of the ankle and the calf before and after the surgery. Skin temperature was measured by a portable digital thermometer in foot. Hypothesis were tested by paired t-test. SPSS/Win 16.0 was used for statistical analysis. The results of this study were as follows: Hypothesis 1: “The fatigue level of the experimental group was lower than the control group.” was supported. Hypothesis 2: “The discomfort of the experimental group was lower than the control group.” was supported. Hypothesis 3-1: “The change of girth of ankle of the experimental group was less than for the control group.” was partially supported. Hypothesis 3-2: “The change of girth of calf of the experimental group was less than for the control group.” was supported. Hypothesis 4: “The change of skin temperature of the experimental group was less than the control group.” had no statistically significant difference. In conclusion, the usage of foot mats was effective in reducing fatigue level, discomfort and edema of lower extremities in scrub nurses during the surgery.

본 연구는 발매트 사용이 수술실 소독간호사의 멸균업무 중 발생하는 신체적 부담 감소에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 자료수집은 2011년 8월 1일에서 10월 14일 사이에 이루어졌으며 D시에 소재한 K대학병원에서 소독간호사 16명을 대상으로 하였다. 사전조사는 멸균업무를 위한 손 씻기 직전에, 사후조사는 멸균업무 종료 직후에 이루어졌다. 중재는 정규 첫 수술에 참여하는 소독간호사의 멸균업무동안 스틸발판위에 발매트를 3일간 연속적으로 사용하였다. 연구도구로는 피로도와 불편감은 10점 척도의 숫자등급척도, 하지부종은 줄자, 피부온도는 휴대용 디지털 피부 온도계를 사용하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS/Win 16.0을 이용하였고 동질성 검증은 t-test, 가설검증은 paired t-test를 이용하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 제 1 가설: “멸균업무 중 스틸발판위에 발매트를 사용한 실험군이 사용하지 않은 대조군보다 피로도가 낮을 것이다”는 지지되었다. 2. 제 2 가설: “멸균업무 중 스틸발판위에 발매트를 사용한 실험군이 사용하지 않은 대조군보다 불편감이 적을 것이다”는 지지되었다. 3. 제 3-1 가설: “스틸발판위에 발매트를 사용한 실험군이 사용하지 않은 대조군보다 발목둘레변화가 적을 것이다”는 부분적으로 지지되었다. 4. 제 3-2 가설: “스틸발판위에 발매트를 사용한 실험군이 사용하지 않은 대조군보다 종아리둘레변화가 적을 것이다”는 지지되었다. 5. 제 4가설: “멸균업무 중 스틸발판위에 발매트를 사용한 실험군이 사용하지 않은 대조군보다 피부온도변화가 적을 것이다”는 기각되었다. 결론적으로 수술실 소독간호사의 멸균업무 중 발매트의 사용은 피로도, 불편감, 하지부종 감소에 효과적인 중재법임이 검증되었다.
