재가노인의 사회적 지지, 양생과 삶의 질의 관계

Abstract

This study has been descriptively conducted with the purpose of identifying the relationship between social support, Yangsaeng and quality of life for the elderly. The data was obtained from 638 people over 65 years old at the 7 senior centers, 2 senior colleges, 2 churches, 3 welfare centers, 2 public health centers and 1 park in the D metropolitan city from August 11th to September 12th of 2010. Tools used for the research were the “Social Support” tool by Hong, Ju-woo(1999) which is a modified version of the social support tool by Park, Ji-won(1985) “the Yangsaeng” tool by Kim, Ae-jung(2004) and the Korean version of the “WHO Quality of Life Scale-Short (WHOQOL-BREF)” by Min, Sung-kil(2000). Using the SPSS 15.0 program, the collected data was analyzed with frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results of the study were summarized as follows: 1. The level of social support, Yangsaeng and quality of life were rated 3.22, 3.25 and 3.08 respectively. 2. The level of social support varied significantly depending on age, educational level, economic status, perceived health status, group activities, someone to turn to and leisure of the people surveyed. There were significant differences on the level of Yangsaeng of the people by their age, educational level, economic status, perceived health status, group activities, and leisure. The level of quality of life differed distinctively according to educational level, religion, marital status, economic status, perceived health status, disease, group activities, someone to turn to, and leisure of the people. 3. For a correlation between factors of social support and quality of life, psychological domain showed highest correlations, followed by social relationship domain, environmental domain and physical health domain. Psychological domain also showed highest in a correlation between factors of Yangsaeng and quality of life, followed by environmental domain, social relationship domain and physical health domain. According to the result of correlation analysis, it appeared to show significant correlations between social support, Yangsaeng and quality of life. Based on the result of this study, social support, Yangsaeng and quality of life for the elderly are significantly related, the higher social support and Yangseng for the elderly are, the higher their quality of life is. Therefore, based on this findings, for the improvement of the elderly's quality of life, the elderly should be constantly supported by the social support system, and to practice Yangsaeng for good health and long life.

본 연구는 재가노인의 사회적 지지, 양생과 삶의 질의 관계를 규명하기 위해 시도된 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 연구 대상은 D시 소재 7개의 노인정, 2개의 노인대학, 2개의 교회, 3개의 복지회관, 2개의 보건소, 1개의 공원에서 만 65세 이상의 노인 638명을 대상으로 2010년 8월 11일부터 9월 12일까지 자료 수집하였다. 연구 도구는 박지원(1985)이 개발한 기능적 측면의 사회적 지지 측정도구를 홍주우(1999)가 수정, 보완한 사회적 지지 측정도구, 김애정(2004)이 개발한 양생 측정도구, 민성길 등(2000)이 표준화한 총 26문항의 한국판 세계보건기구 삶의 질 간편형 척도(WHOQOL-BREF)를 사용하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 15.0 program을 이용하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test, Pearson's correlation coefficient로 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 대상자의 사회적 지지 정도는 3.22점, 양생 정도는 3.25점, 삶의 질 정도는 3.08점으로 나타났다. 2. 대상자의 특성에 따른 사회적 지지 정도는 연령, 교육수준, 경제상태, 주관적 건강상태, 단체활동, 의지하는 사람, 여가생활에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 대상자의 특성에 따른 양생 정도는 연령, 교육수준, 경제상태, 주관적 건강상태, 단체활동, 여가생활에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 대상자의 특성에 따른 삶의 질 정도는 교육수준, 종교, 결혼상태, 경제상태, 주관적 건강상태, 질병, 단체활동, 의지하는 사람, 여가생활에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 3. 대상자의 사회적 지지, 양생과 삶의 질의 상관관계에서, 사회적 지지와 하위영역별 삶의 질 간의 상관관계는 심리적 영역, 사회적 관계 영역, 환경 영역, 신체적 건강 영역 순으로 사회적 지지와 상관관계가 높았으며, 양생과 하위영역별 삶의 질 간의 상관관계는 심리적 영역, 환경 영역, 사회적 관계 영역, 신체적 건강 영역 순으로 양생과 상관관계가 높게 나타났다. 결과적으로 사회적 지지와 양생, 사회적 지지와 삶의 질, 양생과 삶의 질 간의 상관관계가 모두 유의한 상관관계를 나타내었다. 본 연구 결과를 종합해 보면, 노인의 사회적 지지, 양생과 삶의 질의 상관관계가 모두 유의한 상관관계를 나타내어 사회적 지지와 양생이 높을수록 삶의 질이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 노인의 삶의 질 향상을 위해서는 사회적 지지 체계를 통해 지속적인 사회적 지지를 받을 수 있도록 하고, 양생을 통해 건강장수를 위한 생활양식을 실천할 수 있도록 해야 한다.
