한국인 6대암에 관한 고등학생의 지식, 태도, 예방적 건강행위 실천도

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the level of high school students' knowledge and attitude on the six most common cancers among Koreans, which were stomach cancer, hepatoma, lung cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer and cervical cancer, as well as their preventive health behavior for these cancers. The subjects were 1,600 high school students in Daegu city. Quata sampling was done by the ratio of sex and school type. Data collection was done from March 8 to 20, 2004, and 1,581 responses were analyzed. Three kinds of instruments were used for this study. There were questionnaire about cancer-related knowledge, attitude, and preventive health behavior from Suh et al.(1998). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Pearson correlation in SPSS/ WIN 11.0 program. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. Mean score of knowledge of the subjects on the six most common cancers was 3.11(0.44), mean score of attitude of the subjects on the six most common cancers was 3.02(0.36) and mean score of preventive health behavior of the subjects on the six most common cancers was 3.36(0.41). 2. Mean scores of the knowledge on the six most common cancers were different according to gender, school type, grade, frequency of education about the cancer and concern about the cancer. 3. Mean scores of the attitude on the six most common cancers were different according to grade, frequency of education about the cancer, concern about the cancer and current health status. 4. Mean scores of preventive health behavior were different according to the frequency of education about the cancer, concern about the cancer and current health status. 5. The scores of the preventive health behavior for six most common cancers were significantly correlated to the knowledge on the cancers and the attitude toward the cancers(r=0.228, p=0.003; r=0.439, p=0.000). In conclusion, knowledge of high school students on the six most common cancers was a little low and the attitute and the preventive health behavior were moderate. The frequency of education about the cancer and concern about the cancer in high school students affected significantly on the knowledge, attitude, and preventive health behavior. It is necessary for high school students to take a systematic health education about cancers to improve their knowledge, attitude, and preventive health behavior.

본 연구는 남·녀 고등학생들을 대상으로 한국인에게 빈발하는 위암, 간암, 폐암, 대장암, 유방암, 자궁경부암의 6대암에 대한 지식과 태도, 예방적 건강행위 실천도를 파악하기 위하여 실시하였다. 자료수집은 대구광역시의 계열별, 남녀별 고등학생 수에 따라 할당 표출한 총 1,600명에게 2003년 3월 8일부터 3월 20일까지 이루여 졌으며 이중 총 1,581부만이 활용되었다. 연구도구로는 6대암에 대한 지식, 태도, 예방적 건강행위 측정도구 모두 서순림 등(1998)이 개발한 것을 수정보완하여 사용하였으며 측정된 자료는 SPSS/WIN 11.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 실수, 백분율, 평균평점을 산출하였으며, 대상자의 일반적 특성에 따른 차이는 ANOVA를 사용하여 분석하였다. 또한 6대암에 대한 지식, 태도 및 예방적 건강행위 실천도의 상관관계는 Pearson's correlation계수를 산출하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 대상자의 6대암에 대한 지식정도는 평균평점 3.11, 태도는 평균평점 3.02, 예방적 건강행위 실천정도는 평균평점 3.36인 것으로 나타났다. 2) 6대암에 대한 대상자의 지식정도는 성별, 계열별, 학년, 암관련 보건교육횟수, 암에 대한 염려에 따라 지식정도에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 3) 6대암에 대한 대상자의 태도는 학년, 암관련 보건교육횟수, 암에 대한 염려, 현재 건강상태에 따라 태도에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 4) 6대암에 대한 대상자의 예방적 건강행위는 암관련 보건교육횟수, 암에 대한 염려, 현재 건강상태에 따라 예방적 건강행위 실천도에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 5) 6대암에 대한 지식정도와 예방적 건강행위 실천도, 6대암에 대한 태도와 예방적 건강행위 실천도간에는 유의한 상관관계가 있었다(r=0.228, p=0.003 ; r=0.439, p=0.000). 결론적으로 고등학생들의 6대암에 대한 지식수준은 다소 낮은편이며 태도와 예방적 건강행위 실천도도 중정도인 것으로 나타났다. 고등학생들의 특성 중 특히 암관련 보건교육횟수와 암에 대한 염려는 지식, 태도, 예방적 건강행위실천도 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 고등학생을 대상으로 암에 대한 보건교육 프로그램에는 올바른 지식 및 태도를 함양할 수 있는 내용으로 대상자의 특성에 맞게 구성되어져야 하겠고 이를 통해 예방적 건강행위 실천도 함께 이행할 수 있도록 하는 교육이 필요하겠다.
