- Abstract
- Behcet's syndrome consists of the clinical triad of relapsing uveitis, oral andeg nital ulcers. This syndrome is now recognized as a multisystem disease involving mucocutaneous, ocular, intestinal, articular, urogenital, vascular and nervous system.
Four types of vascular lesions are recognized: arterial occlusion; aneurysms: venous occlusion ; and development of varices. Venous lesions are more common than arterial lesions. Venous occlusions are frequently observed, most commonly in the inferior or superior vena cava. Thus, when superior vena caval obstruction is present in a patient, a careful historical review of other lesions associated with Behcet syndrome may prove rewarding. As far as we know, there is no case record of Behcet's syndrome with superior vena cava syndrome in Korea.
We report a case of Behcet's syndrome accompanied by superior vena cava syndrome with a review of literature.
