Abstract
The half-value layer (HVL) of cerrobend alloy [p=9.4g/cc] was examined by experimental measurements for 6MV X-ray beams. The output factors are a function of field size, thickness of attenuator, expecially those factors for a blocked field are less than that for the collimater open field size. Measured dose distributions under attenuators, which are blocked with partially transmitted slab at whole field size, were presented. The expected dose distributions under partial attenuators agree well with measured data, which has shown that partial attenuator method can be applied in radiation treatment planning.
