Aortic abnormalities in Marfan syndrome are represented pathologically by cystic medial necrosis leading to the dilatation of the aortic annulus. Multidetector-row computed tomography (MDCT) angiography is useful for the complete examination of the entire aorta in patients with acute aortic syndrome.
