IT has been reported that cyclosporine (CyA) mono- therapy can be a useful immunosuppressive treatment in renal transplant patients, because CyA monotherapy could avoid the well-known side effects of steroids. A long-term randomized, prospective study was done to assess the long-term effect of CyA monotherapy on graft and patient survival, the incidence of acute allograft rejection, and steroid-related side effects in recipients of living donor kidney transplantation.
