Abstract

Migration inhibitory f actor(MIF), one of the major macrophage activating factors, is produced by activate T cell and leads macrophages to show enhanced level of antimicrobial and tumoricidal activity. Recentrly, anterior pituitary cell, differentiating eye lens and macrophage itself as well as activated T cell have been reported as MIF producing cell. these facts suggest that MIF may be produced by various tissue and it may have some special roles in those tissues.
