진단유전학검사 사업보고 및 신빙도조사 결과보고(1997)

Abstract

Most genetic laboratories have experienced dramatic growth throughout 1990s and are still expanding with wider application of new molecular genetic and cytogenetic technologies. Thus the importance of quality control for those genetic tests continues to be emphasized with increasing clinical demands. The external quality assessment program of KSQACP will be one of the best answers for that. The subcommitee conducted two surveys of the genetic laboratories in Korea and performed a proficiency trial for cytogenetic study in the first year, 1997. Most genetic laboratories are small-sized with limited test items and so there are many difficulties to be expected for the quality assurance. The first trial for chromosome study with three cases was distributed to 30 laboratories and most cytogenetic laboratories performed acceptable. External quality assessment program with an increasing participation of molecular and cytogenetic laboratories will be very helpful to improve the quality of diagnostic genetic laboratory in Korea.

진단유전학분과에서는 1997년에 두 차례의 설문 조사를 통하여 국내 진단유전학검사의 현황을 알아보았고, 그에 따라 제1차 염색체검사의 외부정도관리 물질을 30기관에 발송하였다. 현재 검사를 실시하고 있는 검사실에서는 검사의 표준화 및 정도관리의 필요성을 인식하고 참여에 적극 찬성하였다. 염색체검사의 신빙도조사는 3개 증례의 분열중기세포의 사진으로 핵형분석을 하는 형태였는데 다수의 검사실에서 좋은 결과를 보내주었고 단지 일부 검사실에서 비정상적인 염색체의 확인과 명명법에 잘못된 결과를 보냈다. 처음 시도되는 정도 관리 프로그램이어서 몇 가지 문제점이 노출되었지만 비교적 순조롭게 진행되었고, 이를 적절히 이용하면 국내 염색체 검사실의 질적 향상에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.
