Abstract
Low back pain is one of the most frequent physical complains among Korean middle-aged women but there are limited number of studies regrading low back pain management programs for women. The purpose of this study is to develop a low back pain management program for middle-aged women in Korea.
The low back pain management program developed in this study is consisted of abdominal breathing for psychological stress control, postural change, exercise training and education for meal behavior and the course is completed in 6 weeks(l time/week).
The levels of psychological stress and physiological stress are measured by Visual Analogue Stress Scale and by respiration and pulse rate, respectively. The check list for meal habit was recorded every week(total 5 times) for 10 items of what they consumed during a week. Self exercise check list after low back pain education was filled out of what they have done at home.
We hope that this low back pain management program can be beneficial for reduction of low back pain among middle-aged women. We will evaluate the effectiveness of low back pain management program for middle-aged women in Low Back Pain Program Ⅱ.
