원발성 식도소세포암 1예

Abstract

Small cell carcinoma of the esophagus is an extremely rare tumor. Its incidence varies from 0.05% to 7.6% in all carcinoma of the esophagus. Its clinical behavior does not differ from the small cell carcinoma of the lung, which follows an aggressive course with rapid and widespread dissemination.

Prognosis is generally dismal with an overall survival of 5.1 months. Recent reports of complete remission in two patients treated with combined chemotherapy alone are encouraging.
