Abstract

The association of renal disease with bacterial endocarditis is widely recognized. Although the focal glomerulonephritis is the principal renal lesion complicating subacute bacterial endocarditis, diffuse proliferative glomerulonephritis generally predominates in acute bacterial endocarditis. We are reporting a case of diffuse proliferative glomerulonephritis in 53 years old male patient with bacterial endocarditis. His clinical manifestations were characterized by the presence of rheumatoid factor, cryoglobulinemia and persistent hypocomplementemia as well as advanced renal failure.
