Congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis (CIPA) is a rare inherited disease, which affects a patient's pain sensation and thermoregulation. We discuss a safe anesthetic management for patients with CIPA. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2004; 47: 281 ~ 3)
