Abstract
Carbamazepine-induced drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms was associated with human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-B∗13:01 as well as HLA-A∗31:01. The association between HLA-B∗15:11 and carbamazepine-induced Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis was confirmed in Koreans and Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis patients with HLA-A∗31:01 had the additional drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms–like feature of eosinophilia.
